Safety Testing

• Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) legislation imposes a duty of care for all businesses to provide a safe workplace. Failure to ensure the safety of electrical equipment may result in the death or injury of yourself, your employees or others.
• The Australian Standard clearly defines the requirements of routine testing of safety switches (RCDs). Testing is necessary for the safety of person or persons using the equipment and for the proper discharge of the obligations of employers and employees, as listed in legislation covering occupational health and safety matters.
• Inspection and testing intervals can range from 3, 6 or 12 months up to 5 years.

Testing
Hermes Electrical uses the latest electronic test equipment to test the operation of Safety Switches (also known as RCDs). This test ensures that the safety switch will actually work and also measures that length of time that it takes to trip under a simulated fault condition.
